Portfolio Manager-Herbicides

Full-time

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Portfolio Manager with a specialization in herbicides to join our Head Office team in New Delhi. This senior role is responsible for driving the marketing and business strategies for our existing and upcoming products. You will be instrumental in achieving product-wise sales targets across India by coordinating with marketing and sales teams, ensuring their product portfolios are strategically managed at a divisional level.

Responsibilities

1. Product & Portfolio Strategy
  • Drive the entire product lifecycle, from ideation to launch, for products in the -2 to +3 year pipeline.
  • Develop and execute launch plans, including preparation, execution, and review.
  • Analyze the existing portfolio, create a three-year roadmap, and identify portfolio gaps.
  • Formulate and finalize unique value propositions (UVPs) and positioning strategies against competitors.
2. Marketing & Campaign Management
  • Design and roll out crop and product campaign plans for the Kharif and Rabi seasons.
  • Ensure effective execution of campaigns by providing necessary marketing resources and evaluating outcomes.
  • Manage product-to-product (P2P) initiatives, including training and launch preparations.
  • Drive the liquidation of slow-moving and less-liquid products by aligning with sales and divisional marketing teams.
3. Market Analysis & Budgeting
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of competitors, including their molecules and crop segment progress.
  • Lead annual market mapping exercises with the sales team and perform dipstick surveys to understand market readiness.
  • Stay updated on new developments and trends in crops, segments, and products.
  • Take ownership of the annual budgeting exercise for key products and serve as the central point of contact for all marketing data.
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Training
  • Work closely with Marketing, R&D, and P2P teams to provide interpretations of demo data analysis.
  • Collaborate with the R&D team on new product finalization and take ownership of actions from New Product Development meetings.
  • Ensure the sales team is well-versed in the UVPs of our products and facilitate twice-yearly training sessions.
  • Provide design inputs for branding at key channel partners and coordinate with SBU administration to ensure the timely distribution and tracking of promotional inputs.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience: 8+ years in the crop protection industry, with a strong preference for candidates who have handled a herbicides portfolio at a reputable company.
  • Education: A graduate degree in Agriculture is required; an M.Sc. in Agriculture or an MBA is preferred.
  • Skills: Experience managing sales and marketing teams, a successful track record in the industry, and the ability to adapt to cultural diversity.
  • Salary:20 Lakhs per annum.
