Category Manager – Crop Protection Chemicals

We’re looking for a results-driven Category Manager to lead our Crop Protection Chemicals (CPC) business. Based in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh, you’ll oversee the complete sales and management life cycle for our CPC products across retail stores in several key states, including Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the agrochemical industry and a proven track record in a supervisory sales and marketing role.


Key Responsibilities

  • Business Strategy: Translate the company’s business strategy into actionable plans to achieve sales and margin targets for CPC products at both state and store levels.
  • Inventory & Logistics Management: Oversee the procurement, placement, and liquidation of CPC products across more than 100 retail stores. Ensure optimal inventory levels and maintain a high fill rate for all products.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strategic relationships with manufacturers and distributors nationwide to ensure a consistent and reliable supply chain.
  • Promotional Planning: Develop and execute effective promotional strategies and campaigns for the CPC category to drive sales and market share.
  • Forecasting & Reporting: Accurately forecast demand across relevant geographies and provide regular reports on business performance and budgets.
  • Regulatory & Compliance: Ensure all retail operations adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and regulatory compliance at both the store and state levels.

Skills & Qualifications

Willingness to travel extensively.

Education: A B.Sc. in Agriculture/Horticulture is mandatory. An M.Sc. in an agriculture-related field or an MBA in Agribusiness is preferred.

Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience in sales and marketing within the Crop Protection Chemicals industry. You must have at least 5 years of experience in a state or country-level supervisory role. Experience in multiple states, especially in North India, is a plus.

Language: Must be proficient in Telugu and Hindi. Knowledge of English and Marathi is preferred.

Technical & Soft Skills:

Strong knowledge of agronomy and common crops across India.

Proficient in MS Office, particularly MS Excel and PowerPoint.

Excellent negotiation and team management skills.
