Area Manager, Retail (Telangana)

Job Summary

We’re looking for a highly motivated and results-driven Area Manager to lead our retail operations across Telangana. This role focuses on expanding and nurturing our network of retail partners and influencers in the agri-input sector. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in sales and marketing of Crop Protection Chemicals (CPC) and at least 4-5 years of experience in a supervisory role. You’ll be responsible for scaling our retail and influencer network and driving consistent sales growth in the region.


Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning: Translate business strategy into actionable plans for the state, district, and field levels to achieve sales and network growth targets.
  • Performance Management: Own and deliver on state-level key performance indicators (KPIs), including monthly and quarterly sales, partner and influencer activation, retention, and margin targets.
  • Network Expansion: Lead the training and onboarding of new retail partners and influencers.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and motivate a large field team of Marketing Officers across Telangana, ensuring high engagement, order generation, and target achievement.
  • Operational Excellence: Monitor the quality of partner and influencer onboarding, ensure product training, and resolve any escalations related to service or incentives.
  • Market Development: Develop and execute localized strategies to increase reach in rural markets.
  • Compliance: Ensure strict compliance with all internal standard operating procedures (SOPs), partner agreements, and operational processes.
  • Sales Support: Provide retail partners and influencers with sales enablement tools, schemes, and field campaigns.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze sales data, competitor activities, and market feedback for continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Experience

  • B.Sc. in Agriculture or Horticulture is mandatory.
  • M.Sc. in Agriculture or an MBA in Agribusiness is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in sales and marketing of Crop Protection Chemicals (CPC).
  • Prior experience with agri-distribution networks or influencer models is a plus.
  • Must have 4-5 years of experience managing teams at the state or zonal level.
  • Must have worked in Telangana for at least 5 years.
