Job Overview:
We are seeking a results-driven State Head – Retail (Western Maharashtra) to oversee and manage our retail operations across the state. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in sales and marketing of Crop Protection Chemicals (CPC) at the State/Area level, with strong leadership skills to manage a large workforce. This role involves leading a team of 150+ staff across 50+ retail stores, ensuring compliance, driving sales growth, and enhancing customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Translate organizational strategy into state and store-level business plans with targets for sales, margins, and enablers.
- Define and execute action plans for sales and promotional activities.
- Ensure strict adherence to SOPs in retail operations across all stores.
- Ensure compliance with state-level regulatory requirements.
- Build strategic relationships with local distributors for material sourcing.
- Lead the expansion of retail stores – from geography selection and premises finalization to launch.
- Maintain minimum fill rates at all stores consistently.
- Supervise performance and SOP compliance by store staff.
Qualifications & Experience:
- B.Sc. in Agriculture/Horticulture (mandatory).
- M.Sc. in Agriculture-related disciplines or MBA in Agribusiness (preferred).
- 10+ years of experience in sales & marketing of Crop Protection Chemicals.
- Experience in Specialty Crop Nutrition / Retail is an added advantage.
- At least 4–5 years in a supervisory role.
- Must have worked in Western Maharashtra for 3+ years at state level.
Skills Required:
- Strong knowledge of agronomy of common crops in Western Maharashtra.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Ability to travel extensively across the state.
- Excellent leadership, team management, and mobilization skills.
